IF YOU HAVE ANDROID, YOU CAN ALSO PARICIPATE IN MISSIONS AND IN THE MOSQUITO ALERT ACTIVITY MAP

Android users can participate in special missions. The missions are specific tasks which will be sent to your phone in the form of a superhero (a new icon will appear if you get a mission). Missions are completely voluntary and are designed so that they can be done at any moment. The missions serve to propose new activities and spread news about the project to users in a direct manner.

Also, as a default, five times per day Mosquito Alert will record the approximate location of the telephone (specific locations are not recorded but instead approximate areas of a radius of about 3 kilometres, approximately the size of a town). Mosquito Alert will never record personal information. Knowing the approximate location of Mosquito Alert users is important for scientific reasons: information on the area the user explores in the landscape can be related to discoveries of tiger mosquito using statistical methods. Also, in this way special missions can be sent to certain areas. Keep in mind that this option can be deactivated in the app’s options if you prefer. For curiosity you can see the activity of all users in the tiger mosquito web map.

In the future these features will also be implemented in the iOS version of the Mosquito Alert app.
